Our Story

From our founders:

For years while we served with YWAM in both leadership roles and team roles we found ourselves helping other mission workers with all sorts of “little things”, like getting visas or support raising. Sometimes these workers were on our team and other times they were going to a team in North Africa. It wasn’t necessarily anything official but just filling needs as we saw them. Over time we began to see trends for the kinda help mission workers needed. After completing a training course in member care we realized how important this work was to the Kingdom and the need for it to be taken seriously. So we began to implement more structure and programs into what we were doing or as we like to say “we got serious about doing it well”.

As we got serious the Lord began to send more people to us, many of whom were outside of YWAM. Which began to get us thinking about the over all need world wide and our own personal missions calling. That’s when the Lord changed our lives forever by leading us to start a separate independent ministry called Sent & Sustained with the focus of serving all mission workers serving or going to unreached nations in the 10/40 window.

Having watched a number of passionate people walk away from missions simply for not having the care or help they needed is the driving force behind what we do. Sent & Sustained is trying to eliminate as many of the hurdles or challenges to missions as we can. Our overall philosophy is to bring glory to God by providing the best possible support services free of charge to all mission workers going or serving unreached nations so as to not be a hindrance because we want see more people going to the field ready to set down roots and thrive for the long term. So that ultimately we can see communities of believers thriving around the world in the “darkest and hardest nations” for the glory of God!
