The 10/40 Window

The 10/40 window is a term used to describe a region of the world located between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator which has the least access to the Christian message.

Originally know as at the “resistance belt”, in 1990 Luis Bush and his wife Doris were inspired to call this region the 10/40 window. Since it was first established it has been updated once more to include a few more nations so that it now encompasses a little over 60 countries.

The nations of 10/40 make up roughly two-thirds of the world’s population which includes the majority of Muslims, Hindus and Buddhist. For the most part, these nations have the highest concentration of unreached peoples, higher concentrations of poverty and least access to the Gospel making it an area of great need for the body of Christ to serve.
